Boots Facial Pore Strips

Wednesday, 4 September 2013

I’ve never really used pore strips before now. When I was a little bit younger and getting spots my mum’s remedy was tea tree oil, which stings like nothing else but dries blemishes up in a flash.

However, at the moment I seem to be having trouble with blackheads on my chin and nose so after seeing these Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Facial Pore Strips on offer in Boots I picked them up and hoped for the best.

The strips are easy to apply; you wet your face, peel the strip off the plastic backing and stick it down on the skin, then wait fifteen minutes.

Peeling them off can smart a little a lot; it’s the same kind of feeling you get when removing a stubborn plaster. There may be a little bit of residue left from the strip but this is easily removed with water.

The most disappointing part was finding out that you can’t see the gunk you’ve cleaned out of your pores  surely that would be the fun part, or is that just me?!

I have to say, gross fascinations with blackheads aside, my pores are looking a bit better after a couple of uses, which is what I wanted.

I don’t have as many blackheads as I did before so hopefully with a couple more uses they’ll disappear for good.

I’m not sure I’d buy these again though, they weren’t anything special and a fiver for six strips doesn’t strike me as being particularly good value. I think I’d rather stick with my trusty tea tree oil!

Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Facial Pore Strips cost £4.99 for a pack of six.

  8. I totally have this whole post in common with you.
I've used this before and they didn't really do much for me either.
It may be gross, but you want to see the gunk on the strips so you know the products does what it's supposed to do.
For blackheads you should try a 'blackhead and pore suction vacuum'. They seriously do wonders!
Some can be a bit pricey but you can get some good ones on eBay for cheaper.
I used to have a whole family of blackheads in the middle of my forehead and then I used a vacuum thing and they disappeared after one go with the suction. No pain or nothing.
