ModelCo Shine Ultra Lip Gloss

It's been a while since I've written about a magazine freebie, but I felt like I needed to with this one, primarily because: it's a lip gloss! And I picked it out!

Most of you will be aware that gloss isn't normally my thing, with glossy-finish lipstick or gloss/stain hybrids being as close as I've come to lip gloss since the age of fourteen or so. But when Glamour gave away ModelCo goodies with their July issue  which is still in the shops, should you fancy it  I did the opposite of what I would normally do, and bought the Shine Ultra Lip Gloss out of curiosity (the other options were black eyeliner pencil, blue eyeliner pencil, and mascara).

Unfortunately, I can't find a shade name anywhere, but here's what it looks like on my lips (UPDATE: It's called Striptease):

ModelCo Shine Ultra Lip Gloss (on lips)

No, that white speck in the middle of my top lip is not a flake of skin; it's a glitter particle, which made me feel like I was eight again (as did the peach scent). Luckily, you can only really see it if you look closely, but it's something to bear in mind.

Now, I'm sure you're all wondering: is it sticky? Yes, it is  to a point. There is a little bit of stickiness, but generally it feels very comfortable on the lips, and it's not tacky. Hair will stick to it if there's wind, but you won't want to scrub it off in a frenzy, either.

I think my favourite thing about this gloss is the colour; it's just a subtle hint of peach. The website describes it as a 'soft colour tint' and I think that's very accurate, because it's not in-your-face or statement-making, it just makes lips look really pretty and shiny. I happily wear it alone, as in the photo, or sometimes I layer it over my GOSH Velvet Touch Lip Liner in Angel Kiss if I want a bit more definition. Mwah.

ModelCo Shine Ultra Lip Gloss costs £16 and is available here. If you're reading this before July, then your best bet is to hunt down a copy of Glamour  if you haven't already!

Have you tried any magazine freebies this month? Did any of the other ModelCo products catch your eye? Let me know in the comments!
