I’m going to get straight to the point: Green People’s Christmas collection is absolutely bloody gorgeous and would make a great gift for anyone who loves beauty.
This year it has a butterfly theme — all of the packaging is decorated with beautiful illustrations and a donation from each gift going to the Butterfly Conservation, which protects and preserves British butterflies, moths, and the environment.
Green People make their products with lots of natural, organic ingredients, and they aren’t bulked out with water, alcohol or fillers. Everything is cruelty-free and vegetarian, with lots of vegan products too!
I was very lucky to try a couple of the products: the Joyful Body Wash & Lotion set* and the Indulge Night Treat in Raspberry & Apple*.
The Joyful Body Wash & Lotion (v) (£19.95)duo is fragranced with Tangerine & Cypresse, creating an uplifting, sweet, and citrus-y scent. Each tube has 100ml of product in it.
Despite not containing any SLS, the body wash foams up nicely and leaves my skin feeling clean but not tight. You don’t need to apply too much on a shower puff, so one tube will last a good while.
The body lotion is very moisturing and gives some much-needed nourishment to dry areas. I do wish it would sink in a little quicker — it tends to hang around for a bit, in little white patches — but I think the thick texture means it takes its time. It’s still a lovely product though.
My skin has been in an absolute state recently, so unfortunately I couldn’t try the Indulge Raspberry & Apple Night Treat (v) (£8.50) on my face. (As a hand and cuticle cream though? Dreamy.)
Fortunately Mumma Toasty was more than willing to take it off my hands and act as a guinea pig. I wish I’d had the foresight to film her reaction when she first opened it — she pulled the most shocked and delighted face I’ve ever seen in my life.
‘That smells amazing!’ she said.
She summed the Night Treat up like this:
- Absorbs really quickly
- No irritation
- Doesn’t leave a tacky residue
- Skin feels smooth and looks hydrated
I’m really impressed with the bodycare set and the night cream and I think the stunning butterfly packaging is the perfect finishing touch (the illustrations were hand-drawn). I’ve been storing everything on my shelves — it’s all too pretty to hide away!
